Mission Vision is in the midst of our annual personal supplies drive for our homeless neighbors.  To contribute, simply assemble bags using the above information and deliver your kits to any Scott & Christie location, including Good Looks Eyewear.  Your gifts will be truly appreciated!

About IMPACT:

IMPACT is Mission Vision’s new outreach initiative, focusing not only on the health of our clients, but their overall well-being. While partnering with homeless shelters and free medical clinics to supply eye care services, we have come to realize that our partner providers are often overburdened by the task of meeting basic, essential needs of clients.  These needs often include things most of us take for granted:  underwear, basic personal hygiene supplies, and household items from kitchen cooking utensils to family friendly movies, toys and games.  We concluded that if our partner providers were enabled to offer these basic provisions without spending valuable resources, they would then be able to focus more time and resources on rehabilitating individuals out of homelessness and back into society. 

The IMPACT program was developed from conversations with area shelters Light of Life Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army.  Most often, items received by these organizations cannot be fully utilized because they may not be needed by their residents.  Having these kits in place enables organizations to directly impact the individual’s specific needs.  Hence, an organization undertaking missions work has the opportunity to create IMPACT.

 IMPACT supplies are collected and collated into kits by groups and organizations who truly wish to bless those who are less fortunate than they are. There are many different types of kits that address the various needs we have learned of addressing our local shelters, including: personal hygiene, underwear, school supplies, infant care necessities and house warming baskets containing basic household items. IMPACT is designed to EDUCATE and EQUIP well intentioned individuals about how to GIVE BACK in a way that makes a significant IMPACT on the recipient(s) of their generosity.
